Everyone has a story.
As a journalist, I value accuracy and context. Whether writing about beverages, foods, hospitality, or agriculture, it’s my mission to convey the truth and nuance of people and places.
After graduating from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, I’ve worked as a reporter and editor across newspapers, magazines, podcasts, and digital publications. I’m currently a freelance reporter with a focus on the business of food and beverage, with work appearing in:
The New York Times
The Washington Post
Sightlines
Bon Appetit
Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine
America’s Test Kitchen
Imbibe
Montana Quarterly
Chicago Magazine
Craft Spirits Magazine
Modern Farmer
Foodservice Equipment Reports, and more.
I’m also the current director of the North American Guild of Beer Writers, a professional development organization. I’ve been interviewed by TV stations, newspapers, and magazines on the topics of beer and food, and have presented at Craft Brewers Conference, the Culinary Institute of America’s Worlds of Flavor, Master Brewers Association events, and various state-level craft brewers guild conferences. I live in Missoula, Montana.
